  1. 01

    Choose a model and create a key

    Sign in to the API console, review available models and parameters, and create an API key for server-side requests.

  2. 02

    Submit a generation task

    Send a supported category, model, inputs, and a client request ID to POST /v1/tasks. The accepted response includes a task ID.

  3. 03

    Check status and use the result

    Query GET /v1/tasks/{task_id} until the task succeeds or fails. An accepted request does not mean the media is ready.

Your first task, in two requests

Use a model ID and supported parameters from the live catalog. Replace the placeholders, keep your API key on your server, and use a unique client request ID for each new task.

This is an illustrative text-to-image request. Model capabilities and required parameters vary; check the current documentation before sending it.

Create a task
curl -X POST "$API_BASE_URL/v1/tasks" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{
    "client_request_id": "example-request-001",
    "model_id": "YOUR_MODEL_ID",
    "category": "text_to_image",
    "prompt": "A cat sitting by a window",
    "model_parameters": {}
  }'
Check the result
curl "$API_BASE_URL/v1/tasks/$TASK_ID" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY"

Set API_BASE_URL and API_KEY from the console, then use the returned data.task_id as TASK_ID. A created task may still be pending.

Questions, answered

AI API frequently asked questions

Start with the live documentation for model-specific requirements and the latest billing details.

What can I build with the LumeArt API?

You can add supported AI image and video generation workflows to an application. The live model catalog lists the currently available models, categories, parameters, and prices.

How do API tasks work?

Create a task with POST /v1/tasks and query it with GET /v1/tasks/{task_id}. Generation is asynchronous; an accepted task is not yet a completed result.

Do I need a separate account or API key?

Use your LumeArt account to open the API console, then create a separate API key for API requests. Keep the key on your server and never expose it in client-side code.

Where can I check pricing and usage?

The API console shows the current model catalog, prices, wallet balance, tasks, and usage. New API wallets start at zero balance. Charges follow current model rules and verified usage; displayed examples are not a fixed-price promise.
